This Robot-As-A-Service business provides significant fuel savings, carbon emissions reductions, and increased vessel performance through a simple subscription program.
Job Description
The Controller plays a critical role in strengthening Greensea IQ’s financial infrastructure
and ensuring the integrity of all accounting operations. This role is responsible for
overseeing the company’s accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions while
partnering closely with the FP&A Director and CFO to drive strategic decision-making. The
ideal candidate is both a hands-on operator and a systems thinker — capable of leading the
accounting team, improving processes & systems, and ensuring accuracy, consistency,
and insight in financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, from topline sales down to the bottom line,
ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency across all accounts. - Lead and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including
journal entries, accruals, deferrals, and reconciliations across all balance sheet
and P&L accounts. - Maintain full GAAP compliance; develop, document, and enforce accounting
policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures. - Ensure proper revenue recognition, cost allocations, and inventory valuation in
partnership with operations and cost accounting. - Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and external CPA relationships to ensure
timely and accurate submissions. - Manage debt compliance, including covenant tracking, interest payments, and
reporting to lenders. - Partner with FP&A to align reporting, forecasting, and analysis for executive and
board-level presentations. - Own and optimize accounting systems, chart of accounts, and reporting
structures; drive automation and integration across tools and workflows. - Manage and mentor accounting team members, including: setting S.M.A.R.T.
goals, establishing clear performance expectations, conducting regular one-on-
ones, and providing coaching and feedback. - Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
within the finance team. - Ensure alignment between the accounting team and company priorities —
connecting daily execution to financial and operational goals. - Partner cross-functionally with HR, Operations, and Sales to ensure cohesive
financial processes and data integrity company-wide. - All other responsibilities as reasonably assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus.
- 7–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior controllership or
assistant controller role. - Strong knowledge of GAAP, consolidations, and internal controls.
- Experience with manufacturing or technology environments preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP and reporting tools (e.g., Acumatica, Excel/Google Sheets).
- Detail-oriented and data-driven, with excellent organizational skills.
- Proven leadership and system-implementation skills.
- Exceptional and effective communication skills, across a wide range of internal
stakeholders.
