Job Description 

Greensea IQ’s robotics-as-a-service is expanding rapidly. This role will support iterative improvement of existing robotic platforms as well as the development of next-generation hardware. This position works closely with the Chief Engineer-Robotics to define priorities and high-level requirements. The applicant will be expected to execute concept development, prototype design and fabrication, testing, and progressive release-to-production. The goal of this position is the delivery of a technical solution, in volume, to customers both internal and external to Greensea IQ. 

 Responsibilities 

  • Execution of designs and product development to meet high level requirements 
  • Concept development 
  • Prototype fabrication and testing o Underwater pressure housings 
    • Compact electro-mechanical assemblies 
    • Structural analysis 
    • COTS component selection 
  • Progressive transition to low-volume/high-mix production 
  • Production support and sustaining engineering 
  • Close collaboration with electrical, software, and robotics engineers 
  • All other responsibilities as reasonably assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline 
  • 3-5 years’ experience in mechanical design and electro-mechanical systems 
  • Proficient in Solidworks / PDM 
  • Familiar with Linux/Ubuntu 
  • Excellent hands-on skills (assembly, machining, 3D printing) 
  • Systems-integration experience (Electrical/Mechanical/Firmware/Software) 
  • Preferred experience with: o AUV/ROV/UAV systems 
    • Marine materials – 6061-T6/PEEK/Acetal/Stainless 
    • Electronics packaging 
    • Underwater cables and connectors 
    • Marine product testing (pressure, corrosion, temperature) 
    • Pressure vessel design 
  • Self-driven, able to work small interdisciplinary technical teams 
  • Goal -driven with the ability to multi-task and move and learn quickly
