IQNS and IQNS Mini
Greensea’s IQNS is latest model in Greensea’s Inertial Navigation System (INS) product line. The IQNS derives from the popular GS4 INS which has been used industry-wide for many years. The IQNS upgrades the GS4 with an advanced edge processing platform from NVIDIA, a single axis Fiber Optic Gyro for heading stability, advanced AHRS, and integrated pressure sensor. Based on the OPENSEA software platform, IQNS is designed to be the complete GNCC platform of underwater robots and has processing power for onboard AI/ML processes such as ATR, Obstacle Avoidance, and Target Tracking. The IQNS is designed specifically for small vehicle applications.
EOD Edge moves processing to the robot in an edge processor (“Brain”) adding local navigation, command, and control to the ROV. This allows the ROV to use different communication schemes with the operator (lossy tethers, lower bandwidth comms, ACOMMS, etc.) while providing stable operation. This also allows the implementation of contingency behaviors and safety features on the robot. With a local processor, the software system can easily scale towards greater autonomy, perception, and payload operation without having to scale the communications method.
Key Features:
- GS4-based INS, proven since 2017
- Full inertial solution with aiding from USBL and GPS
- Single-axis Fiber Optic Gyro (FOG) for heading stability
- Improves vehicle navigation and stability
- Compatible with OPENSEA and EOD Workspace systems
- Ideal platform for EOD Edge upgrades
IQNS-Mini – Edge Processor Only Version
IQNS-Mini provides an edge processor only version of the IQNS system designed for the Small ROVs like the VideoRay Defender ROV that fully supports EOD Edge and the emerging software capabilities.
